Proposal to Form a New WIWA Writers Group

WIWA is an association of writers helping and supporting other writers. WIWA encourages its members to participate in writers’ groups to improve their skills and achieve their writing goals.

WIWA recognizes that no two writers groups are the same. A writers’ group may establish itself by genre; for example, a Novel Writers Group may be limited to individuals actively working on novels. Each group should establish and agree to guidelines and procedures that work best for the group.

WIWA sponsors and supports writers’ groups by assisting with their formation, providing administrative support, and providing publicity in our newsletter. Use of the WIWA’s name as a nonprofit organization often aids in finding a free venue for meetings. Therefore, writers’ groups should be identified as WIWA activities and regular participants are to be asked to become WIWA members. Group leaders will be furnished with membership forms and other WIWA information for distribution to group members.

If you are interested in beginning a new WIWA writers’ group please complete the form below, providing information about your proposed group. Your proposal will be reviewed by WIWA's Programs and Resources Committee and a member of that committee will then be in touch to assist you in beginning your new writers' group.

You must be a WIWA member in good standing or become a member to submit a proposal for a new WIWA writers’ group.
