ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICERS

The Chief Executive Officer is a voting member of the Northwest Institute of Literary Arts Governing Board. The CEO supervises the CAO/MFA Program Director and the business officer and is responsible for overall budget, physical plant, operations and carrying out policies of governing board.

The Chief Academic Officer of the Institute and MFA program director reports to the CEO and the Northwest Institute of Literary Arts Governing Board, of which s/he is a non-voting member. The CAO/MFA Program Director supervises faculty and staff, conducts faculty meetings, conducts staff meetings, selects and contracts with full-time and part-time faculty, trains faculty as necessary, develops program and courses, advises graduate students, schedules classes including residency periods, selects and contracts with semester and visiting faculty and usually teaches one course each semester. Also serves as a voting member of the faculty and as route for normal communications between faculty and governing board.

The Chief Financial Officer prepares and supervises budgets and manages finances.

The Registrar is responsible for registration, maintaining student records including transcripts, assuring privacy of those records and supplying transcripts to students and at student direction to others.

The Student Services Coordinator is responsible for supplying information to students and public, supplying information and applicable forms to students, communicating with students and maintaining supply inventory among other duties.

The Online Librarian and Website Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the Institute’s web site as well as for developing and maintaining the Institute’s online library and its links to resources on the internet.
