TEACHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

The Institute offers courses leading to both clock hours and continuing education units through Heritage Institute of Clinton, Washington. Heritage Institute is a certified CEU provider through the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). Clock hours and continuing education units do not qualify for college credits. Teacher Professional Development sessions take place at the August and January intensive residencies.

Clock Hours for residency participation are granted at a rate of one clock hour for each hour of participation.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for residency participation are granted at a rate of one CEU for every 10 hours of participation.

Participation hours available may vary from residency to residency, normally 60 hours are taught during each intensive residency.

Teachers seeking clock hours or CEUs (specify which) may apply for the Northwest Institute of Literary Arts intensive residency by sending the application form which is available on the web site’s Admission and Registration Forms page and a letter including information about your teaching, your degree and your teaching background to:

Cost:
Registration cost for 9 days of intensive residency classes is $800. Travel, meals and lodging are not included.
