Residency-Only ParticipantsWriters from the general community are invited to participate in the Whidbey Writers Workshop MFA residencies in the following ways: Morning and afternoon programs, including workshops
For dates of upcoming residency, see the residencies page at http://www.writeonwhidbey.org/mfa/residencies.htm A maximum of 6 non-degree participants will be admitted in each genre. A maximum of 16 total non-degree participants will be admitted. To Apply (options A and B only): A downloadable application is available through the Admission and Registration Forms link. It should be accompanied by a letter of application describing your writing experience and up to 20 pages of material (2 copies please, prose double-spaced) and one electronic copy (as an attachment to an e-mail to mfa@whidbey.com) in the workshop genre in which you wish to participate - fiction, poetry, children's literature, or nonfiction. Acceptance will be based on the quality of the material submitted. Applications will be accepted May 15-June 15 for the August residency and October 5 -November 5 for the January residency. No more than 16 residency-only students will be admitted, with no more than 6 in any one genre. Applications will be considered on a first-come, first-serve basis, so applying as soon as possible is advisable. For information, e-mail mfa@whidbey.com or call (360) 331-0307. Members of the Whidbey Island Writers Association will be given preference.
